MAP DESIGN

In my game, I  build 5 different zones in my game with different environments, sky, swamp, dungeon, city, and the final zone for the final boss. For these 5 zone, I  let the players have free exploring routes in the game so I connect all 5 zones instead set these zone one by one as linear routes.

ART DESIGN

I created most of the elements in the game map, such as the background, Environmental decoration, etc.

Also, I designed the characters’ animation for the player, enemies, and boss with Photoshop and the animator in Unity.

 

I used some art assets which I found from the Unity assets store, such as

Elements in-game

Enemies: each zone will have at least 3 different kinds of enemies. Generally, these enemies can be divided into three categories:

 

Melee attack:  This kind enemies will only attack the players when they enter their attack range. Moreover, I will set some special skills for these enemies to help them approach the players such as flash or charge.

 

Remote attack: This kind of enemies will shoot Projectiles to the players when players enter their shooting range.

 

Summon enemies: these kind of enemies will follow the players automatically.

Boss:

I set up 4 bosses in my game, and I designed different action modes and attack ways for them. When player defeat the boss, they will open the door to the next area.

 

I also designed different animations and moving modes for these bosses, such as second phase, melee attack and remote attack.

Mechanisms and traps:

 In my game, I designed some mechanisms and traps for players in their route to give them challenge.

 Trigger:

 Mainly, this puzzle is a switch, the players need to find way to turn on the switch to open shortcut or turn off the trap.

 

Falling axe:

 This trap will release the axe and kill the players,they need to react quickly to this to avoid death, also,the axe dropped to the ground will still cause damage to the player

STORY

Thousands of years ago, Silvera was ruled by a tyrant who waged countless wars and killed innumerable people during his reign. During this period, he attacked a country that advocated witchcraft, Northvim, and destroyed it in the name of eliminating paganism. The queen of this country is also a powerful wizard. After seeing her country's tragic end, she cursed the tyrant: He and his people will never be free in their eternal lives unless someone with pure hatred kills him.

In the beginning, eternal life gave the tyrant more time to build his empire, but under the curse of eternal life, his spirit began to malfunction, making him think about how to be free from eternal life. The tyrant tried to find some people who hated him profoundly and ordered them to kill himself, but the hatred of those people was not pure enough, and the tyrant only increased his pain in vain.

In the end, he regretted his crimes, and the tyrant closed himself in the deepest part of the kingdom and closed the door. He assigned the three keys to his three powerful cronies to prevent his actions from harming the world again. He believes that a person with pure hatred towards him will gather the keys to help him live free from his forever life one day.

The protagonist is an assassin who tries to assassinate the tyrant. Unfortunately, his mission failed. After the curse took effect, he was imprisoned for thousands of years. Finally, one day, the chain that bound him broke. He wanted to free himself from the prison of eternal life, so he began his journey.
